Iterative Explorations for Clearstep
2022 - Product Designer
The objective
Clearstep aims to improve peoples access and understanding to healthcare through a chatbot interface and machine learning technology. Working closely with the Chief of Product/Co-founder and product manager, we re-envisioned the results section of their product. The results section of their product needed to both inform the user on the products care recommendations and lead the user to confirming a care appointment.
The outcome
A series of iterative web designs that were circulated amongst testers and stakeholders until the final designs.
Existing Results Page Designs
-
See Your Doctor Now Recommendation
One of the recommendations provided by the Clearstep product is for the user to see their doctor. The product provides options such as virtual visits, in-person visits, retail clinics, and urgent care. The results page also includes educational information regarding their symptoms/ailment.
-
Urgent Care Recommendations
Another recommendation by the Clearstep product is for the user to seek urgent care. Providing the user a way for the user to search for the nearest ER. The results page also includes educational information regarding their symptoms/ailment.
Iterative Process
Both as a design process and collaborative approach with stakeholders, we utilized a process of iterative design. Delivering and reviewing a few different approaches to their requirements until a single version met all objectives. Demonstrating to stakeholders how one idea can be presented in several variations.
Iteration 1
-
Tabbed Sections
Allowing for content to be grouped into tabs. Highlighting the primary recommendation on the first tab and all other options on the other tabs.
-
More Info
For users seeking a better understanding of the treatment they will receive and their symptoms. The more info page now display all the necessary information without being buried beneath the recommendations.
Iteration 2
-
Contained Pages
This version utilizes a more minimalistic approach with all the tabs and information found within card containers
-

For users seeking a better understanding of the treatment they will receive and their symptoms. The more info page now display all the necessary information without being buried beneath the recommendations.
-
Alternative Care Options
If a user does not feel confident in the primary care recommendation, they can find alternative options on the third tab. This both allows for the primary recommendation to be front and center.
Final Iteration
-
Sections with Tabs
To keep all the information on a single page. The final direction displays sectioned content with multiple tabs. A right-hand column is also introduced to reinforce the primary business metric of appointments scheduled.
